Walking to the top of the nearest hill

It was only about a mile from our house. The skies felt very close above. It was a windy day. We were buffeted by high speed winds as we walked the path that crested the hill to the top. The wind was warm and it felt good despite the speeds and hair going crazy.

The dirt tracks are from motor bikes. We were worried about running into some speeding along the trails. They are pretty common out there. We didn't see or hear any while we took our hike.

We were able to see the neighborhood on the other side of the hill. We could just make out which house Morgan's friend lives in from here. We spent time looking at the nearby schools that look so tiny from up here.

When you are sick of watching Netflix

Make a pillow fort.

And what do you do inside that pillow fort?
Watch Netflix.

It’s the little things.

When you cannot leave the house: bake

I do get to leave the house even though it would be much preferred for everyone to stay safe at home. Unfortunately the work does go on and cannot happen virtually. When we are home (which is still a lot) I have been attempting my hand at baking. And what I am baking is exclusively sourdough recipes. Here are a few of those attempts:

Bagels
flavors left to right: cinnamon sugar, chile lime, manchego, everything

Cinnamon rolls (before they were frosted)

Loaves of bread (they look funky but they are handmade)

Other than that there have been bike rides, planning the backyard (if no actual activity) and making face masks. Maybe pics later with the masks.
