Garden Wrap Up

My garden is finally wrapped up for the year. Last month, we ripped out the rest of the tomatoes, threw them in a pile (to be largely ignored, for now), and cleaned up the boxes.

Here is the garden at the full height of the season in August (next to the newly completed kids' play set):

And here it is getting cleaned up:

Yvie trying to photobomb my garden photos.

Q-man and the GIGANTIC tomato roots.

And (pretty much) finished:

Sad, mostly empty boxes.

I think the plant with the red flower is the Pineapple Sage.

One lonely Okra. It did pretty well, considering it was in the box with the killer zucchini.

Already making plans for next year. I plan to add 2 more boxes next to the fence, take down 3 of the boxes in the middle to build two longer boxes (essentially doubling the garden space I have available), and plant more of everything (except tomatoes. I had 11 tomatoes this year, going to do maybe 5 or 6 tomatoes next year).

Also going to work on the side yard project, which currently has no irrigation, and 3 barely-surviving blueberry plants. It needs love!

What are your garden plans for next year?
